I was relaxing after eating supper when the pager went off with,"Medical at "location" Possible person slit wrist". I run and jump into my car and head to the station leaving my jacket at the house. I get to the station and we load up in a grass rig with a medical bag and head to the location.

As we arrive on scene the patient is on the front porch with a PD officer. The officer is holding direct pressure on a 37 year old female's wrist. As we approach the officer lets us know that the bleeding has stopped but the patient has taken a large amount of prescription drugs and vodka. The temperature outside is about 48 degrees with a 20mph wind. We start taking vitals and started talking with the patient trying to keep her awake. I was unable to get a blood pressure and her pulse was weak and thready. Fortunately the ambulance arrived. I got the gurney off the ambulance and got it ready to load the patient for transport. we transfered the patient to the gurney and loaded her into the ambulance.

The ambulance transported the patient to the hospital. We released the scene to the PD and headed back to the station.

Nice and snug in my bed when the pager wakes me up. Page reads ," At "location" A baby fell and is acting weird. I get up and dressed. Run to the car and head to the station. Try to get the medical unit to start but the battery was dead. Grabbed the medical bag and threw it in a grass rig and away we go.

We arrive at the location and the mother meets us at the door holding the 18 month old child. Initial examination does not reveal any problem. The child had fallen out of a chair and landed on her back and head. After the fall the child had arched her back and was screaming. The child was behaving normally and had no physical injuries that we could find.

The ambulance arrived and the paramedics could not find anything wrong with the child either. The mother opted to not have the child transported to the ER. We packed up our gear and headed back to the station.
